DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN A SINGLE SENTENCE?
A passionate and loving, creative individual.

WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON RIGHT NOW?
I design jewellery for Karl Lagerfeld. I’m very thankful for the lovely team that I work with. It makes all the difference when the people you work alongside are kind and genuine.
I do styling here and there on the side as well. I really enjoy it, it’s another creative avenue for me that I love to to play with.
I’m also planning our New Zealand wedding which will be in early 2024. I just finished designing the dress and it’s now being sampled so that’s a big tick off the list.

FAVOURTIE FOOD/MEAL AND WHY?
Childhood things from my mum, like her pumpkin soup and apple tart. She used to make up different frozen desserts and cakes. One of my favorite cakes that she makes is a pumpkin and citrus cake, it sounds terrible but its beautifully moist and decadent with whipped cream on the side. She’s definitely an adventurous cook with no rules which I love and which I’ve learnt from her.
I feel very lucky living in New York and being able to try different restaurants all the time. I love to try new places, different cuisines, and explore different areas of the city.
One of the best things I’ve ever eaten though, was the squid ink pasta at Da Luigi in Capri. I still think about it.

WHAT'S YOUR EARLIEST MEMORY?
Spilling the large red sugar bucket all over the kitchen floor when I was about 3 years old. I was baking with some of my older siblings.

WHO DO YOU ADMIRE AND WHY?
My mumma. She raised 7 kids. Is such a creative person, also the most warm and loving. I hope I can be as amazing a mother and as selfless a human as she is one day.
Growing up with three big sisters, they have also always been female role models for me. I think they really made me fall in love with clothing and the industry I am now in. Seeing the way they dressed and did their hair and make up when I was little. I definitely looked up to them and admired the different things they wore, which would later be handed down to me, often reworked and given a second life. Sisters are the greatest gift!

WHAT MAKES YOU CRY?
Everything haaha. I’m a very emotional person. I feel things very deeply.
A small intimate moment, thinking about how thankful I am to have met my husband, the end to a hard day, a moment in a movie, the beauty of creation, when I see injustice and suffering especially towards women, saying goodbye to a loved one… life is emotional.

DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE DREAM?
I wake up and don’t remember my dreams. I never seem to remember them! What does that mean?

WHERE DO YOU COME ALIVE?
Around my family and loved ones. She’s an extrovert!
When I’m traveling, seeing new and beautiful things.
When I’m in that sweet spot designing, when you get on that roll and feel confident in the direction you are going in and love what you’re creating. A somewhat rare but beautiful moment as a creative.
Hosting a dinner party. Since getting married at the beginning of this year and starting a home with my husband Jon, this side of me I never knew or maybe never had the opportunity to develop has come out and I’ve found that I love to host and provide a meal for others. I like to create a beautiful atmosphere with flowers, ceramics, linens, music, food & wine. Jon and I often cook together, it’s something we love to do together, and I think has become a way of working together as a team as well as being a destresser for both of us.
